On May 19, 2025, Governor Youngkin issued Executive Order 48 to reaffirm the Commonwealth’s commitment to safe educational environments free from discrimination and to stand as an intentional effort to cultivate an environment across the Commonwealth grounded in connection, compassion, and mutual respect. Further, the Executive Order holds with it the expectation that across the Commonwealth, the administration stands ready to act against antisemitism and anti-religious bigotry in Virginia’s public schools and institutions of higher education. In accordance with Governor Youngkin’s Executive Order 48, the Virginia Department of Education is providing information for divisions to consider for implementation. At its August 28, 2025, Board Meeting, the Virginia Board of Education reaffirmed its commitment to combating antisemitism and anti-religious bigotry through its Resolution for Combating Antisemitism and Anti-religious Bigotry in Virginia Public Schools.
